The Eastern Townships is a beautiful cycling experience with its rolling hills and exquisite scenery. It is a ride most cycling enthusiasts will enjoy heartily as we ride on asphalt roads as well as some packed hard gravel. With some elevation challenges, some may enjoy having an e-bike as your choice, while others can saddle up with a hybrid or gravel road bike.
Pick up and drop off will be in the Montreal downtown and airport areas. If desired, we can arrange for a guided walking tour of Old Montreal the day before the tour starts!

Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 – DISTANCE 25.6KM (EASY)
Your guides will meet you at our designated pick up area at or near your hotel early on Sunday morning and head to Granby where your tour will begin your bike ride from Vélo Gare to West Brome. Following the Campagnarde Bike Trail, you will wind your way through the scenic countryside, offering glimpses of picturesque landscapes and pastoral scenes such as the stunning Yamaska National Park. This park is known for its lush forests, serene lakes, and abundance of wildlife. Moving on through Waterloo with historic buildings and exquisite sculptures, you will head to Bromont for the night and enjoy a wonderful wine tasting in this delightful area before retiring for the night.
DAY 2 – DISTANCE 73.4KM (MODERATE)
Starting Day 2 on your bike ride through the beautiful countryside of Quebec's Eastern Townships, strap on your helmets and let’s leave West Brome! Cycling the quiet country roads, rolling hills and picturesque farmland towards Dunham to our stop in the region of Côte d'Ardoise with its stunning sculptures where you can take a break and wander through.
Continuing to Standbridge East, we will stop at the Missisquoi Museum to explore the exhibits and stories that have shaped this region for decades. Cycling onward to Frelighsburg, breathe in the sweet bouquet from the apple orchards. Cycling a short distance will have you replacing the sweet apples with the fresh baked smells of the famous bakery town of Abercorn. Where you can treat yourself to some delectable pastries or freshly baked bread to refuel and indulge in a well-deserved break.
Finally, your bike ride will lead you to the town of Sutton, nestled at the base of Mount Sutton, where you can, before calling it a night, can explore the charming streets lined with boutiques, art galleries, and cozy cafés or if you're up for a challenge, you can even take on the hiking trails of Mount Sutton for breathtaking views.
DAY 3 – DISTANCE 90.4KM (MODERATE)
We start the day cycling to the intriguing village of Highwater before heading on to Potton, which may be breathtaking enough to convince you to return in the winter for skiing at Owl’s Head Ski Resort! The next stop along your bike ride is the tranquil Saint Benoit du Lac Abbey. This Benedictine monastery is nestled on the shores of Lake Memphremagog and is known for its serene atmosphere, beautiful architecture, and delicious award winning cheeses and apple cider. If you're lucky, you may even be able to attend a Gregorian chant or simply take a moment of peaceful reflection. Keep your eyes peeled for the legendry Memphre, the serpent-like creature said to inhabit the depths of the lake as you make your way to the town of Magog for the night!
DAY 4 – DISTANCE 62.5KM (MODERATE)
Starting from Magog, you'll begin your journey by pedaling towards Parc du Mont Orford. As you ride, you'll be surrounded by the natural beauty and fresh air of the Eastern Townships. The road will lead you through rolling hills, lush forests, and picturesque landscapes, arriving in Eastman where you’ll be treated to an array of delicious baked goods to be enjoyed with a nice cup of your favourite hot drink. Following our short break at Dora’s we will continue our way toward les Savon de la diligence, a local micro soap factory that is famous for its legendary soaps, Arriving back in Magog, you can unwind by strolling along the waterfront promenade or exploring the town's vibrant downtown area. Treat yourself to a well-deserved meal at one of the local restaurants and savor the flavors of the region.
DAY 5 – DISTANCE 81.7KM (MODERATE)
Today you'll embark on a journey towards North Hatley. As you pedal along the route, you'll pass through Georgeville, a quaint village that is famous for being the summer home of the celebrated Canadian actor, Donald Sutherland. Continuing on, you'll arrive in Stanstead, a town known for its rich history in the granite industry, boasting impressive architectural gems, including the Colby Curtis Museum, where we may have time for a short visit and perhaps a bite.
Following along the scenic Tomifobia River, you'll pedal your way to Ayer's Cliff, located on the shores of Lake Massawippi. The river and lake provide a serene backdrop as you ride, creating a peaceful and enchanting atmosphere, as you reach your destination of North Hatley.
This charming village is nestled on the shores of Lake Massawippi, offering a relaxed atmosphere, inviting a stroll through the town, admiring the Victorian-era architecture.
DAY 6 – DISTANCE 66.1KM (EASY)
Leaving North Hatley behind, you'll cycle your way towards Maison Louis St. Laurent. This historic house is the birthplace of Louis St. Laurent, the 12th Prime Minister of Canada. As you arrive, you'll be greeted by the charming stone house, nestled amidst a picturesque landscape. Take a guided tour through the house to learn about Louis St. Laurent's life, his contributions to Canadian politics, and the significance of this place in Canadian history. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with the past and gain insights into Canadian heritage.
After your visit to Maison Louis St. Laurent, hop back on your bike and continue your journey to La Fromagerie Compton. This artisan cheese factory is renowned for its delicious cheeses made from locally sourced milk. Prepare your taste buds for a treat as you make your way through the doors of this cheese lover's haven. After relishing the cheese experience at La Fromagerie Compton, it's time to turn around and head back to North Hatley
DAY 7
9:30 am - Depart after breakfast to get our guests back to Montreal Airport and city by noontime.
