Trogir to Rijeka Cycle and Cruise Bike and Boat Tour Itinerary

Day One — Rogoznica to Primošten and Šibenik, 15 km (easy to moderate; 1 mile = 1.6 km)

We suggest you arrive as early as possible in Trogir to give yourself some time to explore this lovely port town on your own. Reminiscent of Venice, you could spend hours exploring — but do make sure you find our boat at the pier before you start to wander. After check-in at noon, our motorized boat will take you on the first little cruise from Trogir to Rogoznica, and it’s here where you will go for your first bicycle ride of the week. Today’s route will take you through fields of olive trees to a viewpoint over Primošten, an old town situated on a small peninsula where we will meet our boat. Once on board, we continue sailing to Šibenik as we'll spend the night in this UNESCO historical town.

Day Two — Skradin and Vodice, 38 km (moderate)

In the morning our boat will bring you to Skradin. After breakfast, you will visit the Krka National Park— home to a series of cascading waterfalls. After your visit to the park, you will be back on the boat for lunch. After lunch we go for today’s bicycle ride which will show you another side of the country. Though never far from the coast, you will cycle on the mainland through small villages and vineyards, passing through areas that remind us of the war that happened only 20 years ago in Croatia. Our boat will wait for us in Vodice, our home for the night.

Day Three — Vodice and Murter, Pašman and Ugljan islands + Zadar, 24 km + 31 km (easy to moderate)

After breakfast we go for the first bike ride of the day. You’ll ride on delightful back roads from Vodice to the island of Murter, which is connected by a small bridge. After crossing the bridge, you will cycle along the coast back to the boat for lunch. The boat will dock in a quiet bay, perfect for a swim break after the morning’s cycle. In the afternoon, we cruise to our next two islands of Pašman and Ugljan, which are connected by a bridge. After, we sail to Zadar, an historical town inhabited since prehistoric times. This glorious town will charm you with it’s narrow streets and well-preserved history. Before dinner, you will enjoy a guided city tour.

Day Four — Pag, 33 km (moderate)

This morning we sail to the island Pag from Zadar, taking in wonderful views of the Velebit mountain range along the way. This interesting looking island has almost no vegetation on it, as it bears the brunt of the strong winds coming from Velebit. After lunch you will cycle this island with its old stone walls and thousand-year-old olive trees. We then set sail to the island Rab—one of the sunniest places in all of Europe.

Day Five — Rab, 19 km (easy to moderate)

You will start today’s ride cycling in the historical town of Rab, continuing to the other side of the island and the town of Lopar. Here you will see the biggest and the most beautiful sand beach in the country. After meeting up with our boat, we will sail to Baška on island Krk, our home for the night. Along the way we will pass island Goli Otok which at one time was part of Yugoslavia and, in fact, served as Yugoslavia's Alcatraz.

Day Six — Krk, 38 km (moderate at times challenging)

The bicycle ride today will take you across the island of Krk. Its inhabitants call this land the “Golden Island,” because of the abundance of water and agriculture. You will cycle through a lush and fertile area covered with vineyards where the famous wine Vrbnička Žlahtina is produced. You will then visit Vrbnik, a small pirate town with the second narrowest street in the world. Then we are off to Krk, yet another beautiful and historical town on our tour.

Day Seven — Krk, 37 km (moderate)

Since we are on the biggest Croatian island we will cycle one more day on Krk. The bicycle ride today will take you across the northern part of island of Krk. Then we are off to Soline, where nearby beaches offer you the chance to bathe in mud that is believed to have healing properties. Back on the boat, we sail to Rijeka. We will arrive mid-afternoon, giving you plenty of time to relax before our Captain’s dinner.

Day Eight — Rijeka

After our last breakfast, you will begin your journey homeward or beyond. If you’re considering exploring more of Croatia after the tour, let us know and we can make recommendations.
