Embarking on a 7-day bicycle tour of the Route des Bleuets around Lac Saint-Jean is a fantastic way to explore the natural beauty and charming towns of this region in Quebec. As you cycle along the well-established bike routes, you will pass through farmland, forests, blueberry fields and stunning beaches.
Tour Itinerary
Day One – Arrival and city walking tour
Meals – Dinner
We all meet at Chateau Laurier in Quebec City for 3:30pm Hôtel Château Laurier Quebec | Hôtel à proximité du Vieux-Québec (hotelchateaulaurier.com)
Once Checked in we will embark on a guided city walking tour as we take in the rich history of Quebec City. After words we will enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner where we will get acquitted with one another and go over the plan for the week ahead
Day Two – Metabetchouan to Alma (35.9Km/22.3Mi)
Meals – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
After breakfast we will start our two-and-a-half-hour drive through the beautiful Laurentide Wildlife Reserve, we will begin our journey in Metabetchouan at Plage du Rigolet, a beautiful beach where you will get to enjoy the serene views of Lac St-Jean while having a quick bite to eat while we get your bike ready for your first ride towards Alma where will spend our first night.
Day Three – Alma to Dolbeau-Mistassini (86Km/53.4Mi)

Today's ride is the longest of the week but a very enjoyable one. You will be riding mostly on a designated bike path including a 20 km section in the Pointe Taillon National Park. Day Four – Dolbeau-Mistassini – St-Félicien (57Km/35.4Mi)

Today, you will be riding along the designated trail with some sections on quiet country roads heading to Saint-Félicien. On your way you will be offered the opportunity to stop at ‘’The Blueberry Souvenir and Giftshop’’. Following a quick visit, you will head back on the trail towards Les Chutes à l’Ours where you will be served lunch at a restaurant located next to the falls. After lunch, you have the opportunity for a quick swim, and then we will continue to Saint-Félicien where you will spend the night.
Day Five – St-Félicien – Val Jalbert (54Km/33.5Mi)

With an early start today, you'll be able to squeeze in a visit of the Wild Saint-Félicien Zoo, a unique wildlife park that offers an immersive experience with nature. It is one of the largest zoos in Canada, focusing on the conservation and education of boreal and cold climate species.
Following your visit to the zoo you will continue your journey towards Val Jalbert historical village, a well-preserved town that offers a glimpse into the region's industrial past. The village will be home for the next two nights.
Day Six - Val Jalbert loop ride to Parc Trou de Fée (62Km/38.5Mi)

Another busy day ahead with a loop ride taking you to the ''Parc de la Caverne Trou de la Fée'', a fascinating natural attraction located in Desbiens, Quebec. The park is renowned for its impressive cave system, which offers visitors a chance to explore the underground world. The main cave, known as the Fairy Hole, is a highlight, featuring unique rock formations and a mysterious ambiance.
Following your visit of the trails and cave you will head back to the Val Jalbert Historical village where you will spend another night and where we will have our last supper altogether.
Day Seven - Val Jalbert – Metabetchouan (Shuttle back to Quebec City) (25Km/15.5Mi)

Today's ride is pretty much straight forward...you will be closing the loop around the Majestic Lac St-Jean.
Depending on weather we may even stop off for a quick swim at the Metabetchouan beach before Heading back to Quebec City.
